Terms and Conditions

These terms govern the use of the RIDR platform: the RIDR app, the web portals at ridr.co and app.ridr.co and all connected services.

Version: 5 August 2026 · Deutsche Fassung

1. Subject matter and role of RIDR

The platform is operated by RIDR LTD, Georgiou Karaiskaki 11-13, CARISA SALONICA, Flat/Office 102, Pervolia, 7560 Larnaca, Cyprus, registered with the Registrar of Companies, Nicosia, under HE 480366 (hereinafter RIDR). Contact: office@ridr.co. Further details in the legal notice.

RIDR is a brokerage platform. RIDR connects, in two sections:

RIDR is not a carrier. RIDR does not itself provide transport services, does not employ drivers and is not a party to the agreements concluded between users or between passenger and taxi company. The contract for the ride is concluded exclusively between the parties involved.

Territorial scope: Rides are brokered exclusively within the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland. Registration is open to persons of legal age regardless of nationality and residence. However, the offering is addressed only to persons using the platform within this territory; we do not direct our offering at markets outside this territory.

2. Definitions

Member
Any natural person with a RIDR account.
Driver
Member who offers a private trip as a ride-sharing opportunity in the ride-sharing section.
Passenger
Member who books a seat on an offered ride.
Cost contribution
The passengers' contribution to the actual costs of a ride. The cost contribution is not a fare and not remuneration for a transport service.
Taxi partner
Commercial taxi company whose rides can be booked via the taxi section.
Wallet
A member's internal settlement account on the platform (Section 7).
Service fee
The fee RIDR charges for the brokerage service. It is shown transparently before any paid use.

3. Registration, account and verification

Use of the platform requires an account. Only persons aged 18 or over may create an account. Exactly one account per person is permitted.

One phone per person: Every account is tied to exactly one mobile device and one verified phone number. Passing the account or the device to third parties for use is prohibited. A device change is possible via the procedure provided in the app.

Identity verification: Before the wallet is unlocked and before offering or booking rides, an identity verification (identity document and authenticity check) via our payment provider Stripe is required. Only members whose vehicle has been verified via the registration certificate may offer rides.

You undertake to provide truthful information during registration and verification and to keep your data up to date. Accounts using forged or third-party documents will be suspended.

Details on data processing are set out in the privacy policy.

4. Ride-sharing section: private rides with cost contribution

As a driver you may only offer a ride if you meet all of the following conditions:

Carrying unaccompanied minors is not permitted. The carriage of animals and luggage is agreed between the parties in the app.

5. Cost contribution and cap

The cost contribution serves exclusively as a share of the actual costs of a ride (in particular fuel or energy and wear). The driver sets their per-kilometre rate within the limits set by RIDR.

Hard cap: The platform technically caps the cost contribution so that it does not exceed the rates recognised as cost reimbursement. A profit for the driver from the ride-sharing section is excluded and is not permitted by the platform. The driver always bears their own share of the costs.

Before booking, passengers see the maximum amount of their cost contribution. Billing is based on the distance actually travelled together; the displayed maximum is never exceeded. If further passengers join, the individual share decreases according to the rules displayed in the app.

Note for drivers: whether and to what extent cost contributions are tax-free in the country of your tax residence is determined by the law there. The platform caps are chosen so that the contribution remains cost reimbursement; the tax assessment of your income is your responsibility.

6. Booking, boarding, cancellation

Booking

A booking request is accepted automatically or manually depending on the driver's setting. Upon acceptance, the ride-sharing agreement between driver and passenger is concluded; the cost contribution is reserved via the wallet.

QR boarding

When boarding, passengers confirm the booking by scanning the QR code. The boarding log serves the safety of everyone involved. Persons without a valid booking must not be taken along; drivers may only carry persons with confirmed boarding.

Cancellation

The deadlines shown during the booking process apply. Default rule, unless displayed otherwise:

Repeated short-notice cancellations or no-shows may lead to measures under Section 11.

7. Wallet and payments

Payments on the platform are cashless via the wallet. The following applies:

For top-ups and payouts, Stripe's terms may require additional checks (Know Your Customer). Without a completed check, payouts are not possible.

8. Taxi section: brokerage of taxi rides

In the taxi section RIDR brokers transport orders to commercial taxi companies. The following applies:

9. Safety

RIDR provides safety features, including an SOS alarm with recording, route deviation detection, code word and duress alarm as well as QR boarding. By using the platform you acknowledge that audio and video recordings of the ride may be created when an SOS alarm is triggered; the recordings are encrypted and sealed and are unsealed only for the investigation of a reported incident or on a legal basis (details in the privacy policy).

10. Conduct, content, ratings

You undertake to treat other users respectfully and not to use the platform to violate the rights of third parties or legal provisions. Prohibited in particular are harassment, discrimination, fraudulent behaviour, circumvention of the booking system and posting unlawful content.

After a ride, the parties can rate each other. Ratings must relate to actual shared rides and must be truthful. RIDR may remove ratings that are evidently abusive, unlawful or unrelated to a ride. In-app messages may be checked automatically for fraud and safety patterns; they are not analysed for advertising purposes.

11. Moderation, suspension, complaints

In case of violations of these terms, RIDR may react in a graduated manner according to severity and repetition: notice, warning, restriction of individual features, temporary suspension or permanent termination of the account. In cases of imminent danger (in particular safety incidents, fraud, forged documents) an immediate suspension is possible.

We inform you of a suspension or removal of content with reasons, unless the law requires otherwise. Before a permanent suspension, a human reviews the case. You can object to any decision and request a review: office@ridr.co. You can report unlawful content at any time to the same address (contact point under the Digital Services Act, see legal notice).

You can delete your account at any time without notice in the app. Existing bookings must be completed or cancelled beforehand; balances are paid out or refunded in accordance with Section 7.

12. Liability

RIDR owes the brokerage service with the diligence of a proper platform operator, in particular the verification and safety features described. RIDR does not owe the performance, punctuality or quality of the rides; the drivers or the taxi companies are responsible for these.

Verifications (identity, vehicle) mean that the check under the described procedure was successful; RIDR does not guarantee a person's behaviour beyond that.

RIDR is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damage to life, body and health. In cases of slight negligence RIDR is liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Mandatory statutory liability rules, in particular in favour of consumers, remain unaffected.

Drivers in the ride-sharing section are themselves responsible for valid insurance cover of their vehicle. Liability arising from road traffic is governed by the general rules and lies with the parties to the ride.

13. Rights of use in the software

RIDR grants you, for the duration of your account, a simple, non-transferable right to use the app and the portals for your own, non-commercial purposes (taxi partners: in accordance with the partner agreement). All rights in the software, trademarks and content of the platform remain with RIDR. Reverse engineering, automated scraping and using the platform to build competing services are prohibited unless mandatorily permitted by law.

For content you post (e.g. profile picture, ratings) you grant RIDR the simple right of use necessary to operate the platform. You remain responsible for your content.

14. Changes to these terms

RIDR may adapt these terms when features, the legal situation or the range of services change. We give notice of changes at least 30 days before they take effect, in the app or by email. If you do not object before the effective date or continue to use the platform afterwards, the amended terms apply; we point this out in the notice. If you object, the user agreement ends; the last paragraph of Section 11 applies accordingly.

15. Applicable law, dispute resolution

The law of the Republic of Cyprus applies. If you are a consumer with habitual residence in the EU, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your state of residence and the courts provided for there remain unaffected.

Please address complaints first to office@ridr.co; we reply within a reasonable time. We are not obliged to participate in proceedings before consumer arbitration boards but will consider participation case by case.

These terms exist in a German and an English version. For users in Austria, Germany and Switzerland the German version (ridr.co/agb) prevails; otherwise this English version applies.

Should individual provisions of these terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
