You may create an account if you are at least 18 years old. One account per person is permitted.
Every account is bound to exactly one mobile device and one verified phone number. That makes duplicate and fake accounts far harder, and it is the basis on which strangers can trust each other.
Passing your account or device to someone else is not permitted. Changing devices is possible through the route provided in the app.
Before your wallet is activated and before you can offer or book rides, an identity check takes place using an identity document and a liveness check. It runs through our payment and identity provider Stripe.
Document photos are deleted after 24 hours at the latest. RIDR stores no biometric profiles.
From the scanned registration document, not from what someone types in. Plate and keeper are cross-checked.
No. RIDR is an intermediary software platform and not a carrier. Rides are agreed solely between users. RIDR drives nobody.
A contribution to the cost of the journey, not a fare. The driver shares the cost of a journey that is happening anyway and makes no profit from it.
Drivers set their own contribution. The platform caps it technically so that it stays cost sharing. The more passengers, the less each person pays.
A small RIDR usage fee is added. That is the only income RIDR has from ride sharing. There is no dynamic pricing.
No. The amount is fixed before the ride.
Along the whole route, not only start and destination. Partial legs therefore match as well.
A booking request is accepted automatically or manually, depending on the driver's setting. On acceptance the ride agreement between driver and passenger comes into being, and the contribution is reserved through the wallet.
Passengers confirm the booking by scanning a QR code. That verifies that person, booking and vehicle belong together. People without a valid booking must not be taken along.
Unless something else is shown during booking:
Repeated late cancellations or no-shows can lead to restrictions on the account.
Cashless through the wallet. Top-ups, payouts and refunds are handled by Stripe as a licensed payment service provider. RIDR holds no customer money and provides no payment services itself.
A settlement account. It records top-ups, contributions, credits from rides and service fees.
Payouts are only possible from credits for rides that actually took place, and only to an account in the verified person's name. Unused credit that was topped up is refunded to the original payment method on request.
If the route deviates significantly and the passenger does not answer the check-in question, an alarm is raised without anyone pressing a button. Up to five trusted contacts are notified.
A code word allows a silent alarm when speaking would be dangerous.
In an emergency always call 112 first. RIDR is not an emergency service.
They are sealed with encryption. The key is not held on RIDR servers, so RIDR cannot simply look at them either. They are unsealed only for a reported incident, and that is logged. Without a reported incident they are deleted after 30 days.
RIDR responds in proportion to severity and repetition: a note, a warning, restriction of individual functions, temporary suspension or permanent termination. Where there is imminent danger, such as safety incidents, fraud or forged documents, an account can be suspended immediately.
Before a permanent suspension a human reviews the case. Every decision can be appealed.
RIDR arranges rides with licensed taxi operators and acts purely as an intermediary, not as a carrier. The transport contract and the payment run directly between passenger and operator, and the final price and receipt come from the operator.
Tariffs are set by the taxi operator or by local tariff law. The fare is agreed before the journey starts and confirmed electronically, and it may not be exceeded afterwards.
The core infrastructure is in the EU, hosting in Germany and Finland, database and storage in Frankfurt. Narrowly scoped services under EU standard contractual clauses are Stripe for payment and identity, Twilio for SMS codes and Google for push and maps.
No sale of data, no advertising networks, no third-party tracking components in the app.
At any time in the app, without going through us:
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. A message to privacy@ridr.co is enough, and we reply within the statutory period. The details are in our privacy policy.
If it still does not arrive, write to support@ridr.co.
Before sending the code, RIDR verifies that the request comes from a person. If a box to confirm appears, tap it once. If the check fails, closing the app completely, reopening it and trying again almost always helps.
Add the town as well, so “Hauptplatz Feldkirchen” rather than just “Hauptplatz”. Suggestions near you appear first. If a place is missing entirely, send us the address and we will add it.
